the following is a simulated conversation between a curious person and SocialCase

What is SocialCase?

SocialCase is a "Socially Driven Music Community" ...

Uh, what the hell is that?

Well lets start at the end. By "Music Community" we mean a shared online community for both Artists and Fans that will allow fans to find and support music and the Artists who produce it. By "Socially Driven" we mean that the Fans decide whats "Hawt" and what "Blows"... using a rating system and the community as a collective Bands will be made popular by the communites opinion of them.

Okay, so ... it's good for bands, whats in it for me?

You're a selfish bastard... you know that right?... but god I love you! Seriously though, there is a lot in it for you the Fan. I mean think about the possibilites, you could literally be opened to new music and artists you would never have a chance to hear otherwise. You can find people with like minded tastes in music and musical styles and discover even more music through their interests. Ideally it could change the way you go about interacting with and finding new music... the only downside is it's super expensive.

Really?.. how much does it cost?

Nah... I'm just Joshing ya play boy, it's free... doesn't cost a Dime... or even a Penny.

Sounds pretty cool, but how do I hear the music... and I don't want to bother people asking them what music they'd suggest.

You don't have to ask them a thing! With SocialCase's specialized music player you can be exposed to music in several ways. One of which includes every Fan getting their own station and playlist.

Wait... what do you mean?

I mean, the way you find music using SocialCase is really up to you. With our specialized player you can listen to music randomly from all Genres, or by Genre, or per Artist, or even per Album! As if that isn't cool enough, you can even listen to your friends, or even your own station or playlist.

What do you mean "my" station or playlist

Well its kind of complicated, but basically... as a Fan your primary duty of all things music is to love the music you listen to, your secondary duty is to support the Artists who produce that music so you never run out of the stuff you love. By using SocialCase and "Fanning" bands you show support to the Artists... when a Fan loves an Artist... they come together and something magical happens... usually its a baby, but I'm a web site so I can't get pregnant. However... the love you as a Fan and Artists share produces your "Station". Basically bands that you like and "Fan" will automatically populate your station randomly, and as for your playlists, you can select specific artists you want to play in your "My Playlist" player for yourself, or for all your friends to hear.

Wow, the baby thing you said kinda creeped me out...

yea, sorry about that, I get a little carried away at times...

It's cool... so anyway, what if my friends hate you and don't want to use you?

Ah screw them they don't know what they are missing... but if you really want to let them know how good our relationship is, you can just put our bastard child of a music player on any website that will allow it. These sites include mySpace, Blogs, Etc.

Wow thats pretty cool.. but its probably a pain to update .. to much work

Actually, its super easy, once you put a player somewhere it updates itself. Lets say you put a "Genre" player on your page, well whenever your page loads that player will fetch random music that is within that Genre, even if a band just added a song only seconds earlier, it could be loaded into your player instantaniously. Or lets say you put your favorite bands player on your Blog, well if that Band adds a new Album you'll be the first to know, because their new music will automatically be used the next time your page is loaded.

Wow okay, but what about "My Station" or "My Playlist"? I bet updating those is a pain.

All you have to do is use SocialCase and those update with you! Log in, "Fan" new Artists, or swap out Artists you want to show up on your playlist. Your player automatically updates... then all you have to do is sit back and enjoy.

Wow... where can I sign up?

You can't yet, we're working on that ;)

Alright, well sounds good enough, I'll see ya later then.

Yea man see you later, oh by the way... you still have my blue hoodie

The End
